Think you need to call a plumber to change a toilet seat? Think again.
Replacing a seat is one of the easiest, most satisfying DIY projects you can do. It instantly upgrades your bathroom’s hygiene and look.
At Fujian Chuangshi Sanitary, we design our seats with the “5-Minute Install” philosophy. Here is your foolproof guide to getting it right the first time.
What You Need
A flat-head or Phillips screwdriver.
Your new Fujian Chuangshi Premium Seat (all hardware is included).
5 minutes of your time.
The Guide
Step 1: Out with the Old
Locate the covers behind your old seat hinges. Pop them open and unscrew the plastic bolts. Lift the old seat away.
Pro Tip: Use household cleaner to scrub the mounting area. It’s the only time this spot will be exposed!
Step 2: Install the “Heavy Duty” BasesForget flimsy plastic. Take our Metal Hinge Bases and place them over the holes. Drop the screws in.
Why Metal? Plastic bases flex and cause wiggling. Our metal bases lock down tight.
Step 3: The Magic Alignment Trick
Most people screw the bases down tight immediately. Don’t do that!
Leave the screws slightly loose. Clip your seat onto the posts.
Now, shift the seat around until the front edge matches your toilet bowl perfectly.
Why? Every toilet bowl is slightly different. Our adjustable hinges let you get a custom fit.
Step 4: Lock It Down
Carefully unclip the seat (using our Quick-Release Button) without moving the bases.
Now, drive those screws home. Tighten them firmly until the bases don’t budge.
Place the shiny metal covers over the bases to hide the screws.
Step 5: The “Slow Close” Test
Click your seat back on. Lift it up and let it drop.
Watch as our Soft-Close Dampers take over, lowering the seat in silence. No slams, no noise.
Common Mistakes to Avoid (The “Don’ts”)
Don’t use power drills. You might crack the ceramic. Hand-tighten only.
Don’t sit on the lid (cover). It’s designed for aesthetics, not as a step stool.
Don’t use abrasive cleaners on the metal hinges. A damp cloth is enough to keep them shiny.
